Who is this Dancing Monkey?

Kirk Smith has been a freelance graphic designer since he was fifteen, which is getting to be some time ago now. He started designing large signs, posters and ads for his family's ski and snowboard shop and quickly started taking on other clients. He has continued to branch out and develop his skill set. He now specializes in branding development and providing all of the incidentals that go along with that, including business cards, websites, apparel and more.

Currently based in Vancouver, Kirk grew up in Kamloops, BC, and his other career as a professional actor has seen him on stages around the country.  Because of this he has learned to work remotely and effectively develop relationships with clients in many different cities.  Life in the performing arts has taught him the importance of telling a story, which translates directly to designing effective materials that don't just look good but evoke an idea or an emotion. It has also provided an opportunity to design for various theatre companies, who require a wide scope of promotional materials from flyers to posters, illustration and beyond.

Kirk's concept for Dancing Monkey Creative is not just to draw on his own skills as a designer but also the skills of other talented people he has met in his journeys, including photographers, videographers, voice actors, event planners, emcees, musicians and more, providing access to a network that can take your promotional possibilities far beyond a simple poster.

Ultimately, Dancing Monkey Creative is about relationships. It's about connecting with you, the client, getting to know who you are and what you have to offer, and getting creative about how to best tell that story to your audience, your customers. Please get in touch, so we can get started.

Rates and Pricing

There are no fixed rates for the services offered by Dancing Monkey Creative because not all jobs are created equal, and each project should be tailored to the individual client's needs. Once we have met and established the specifics, scope and timeline for your project, you will receive a quote.  If that looks good to you, then we can move forward. Because larger projects can take some time, and any project can be subject to revisions or delays, a 50% deposit is required before work begins. The remainder will be due on receipt of the finished materials.

Don't hesitate to ask for a quote or answers to any questions you may have.
